Red Tail Ridge has become a required stop for us when we're on the west side of Seneca. The rieslings are great and I very much liked the 2008 Lemberger (as Nancy labeled it for that vintage). Although I come down on the lemberger side in the lemberger/blaufrankisch debate, I guess I'll learn to adapt. I'm sure the next time I'm in, Nancy will be glad to enlighten me on the proper pronounciation of "blaufrankisch". I look forward to trying the dornfelder and teroldego.

More great wines from our wonderful neighbor!

In your conversations with the region's winegrowers, have you gotten any sense from them regarding the varietals that they are attempting to grow in their test blocks (i.e., stuff that's not yet close to production but may show longer term promise given right site, rootstock, etc.)? Would be an interesting read.
