This is a great idea, especially given local breweries' eagerness to use local hops both as a flavor and marketing tool.

I tried to grow hops (to climb and cover a pergola in our yard) a couple years ago. They never emerged from the ground, but I think I'm going to try again in the spring.

I have enough homebrew friends who will take the hops.

Or perhaps I need to take the plunge and use them myself.

I had a chance to crush some up and get a whiff and they smelled great. I hope it catches on up here.

I like.

ill be planting a 1/4 acre of hopps soon... hellz yea.

Phenominal article.

I live in Texas, and it's tough growing hops..but i'm still tryin'!

I've been a Niagara County Hop grower (Wheatfield) for 7 years now. I have 3 varieties; Cascade, Centennial and Perle. I use my harvest for home brewed beers. The area is excellent for hops. It is good to see a commercial grower starting.
